Several tower cranes have been climbed in excess of 100m and SCE have attended to thoroughly examine the climbing frames prior to the climb and subsequently after the climb.
The MCWP’s were single and double column, some fitted with cantilevers and several incorporated a ‘double deck’ of platforms with monorails and block hoists in addition. This required close co-operation with the Principal Contractor and suppliers of the lifting machines to schedule in thorough examinations after installation or after alterations that had been carried out.
